Matthew R. Dasti's research focuses on the 鈥渙rthodox鈥 schools of classical Indian philosophy, especially early Ny膩ya and its theory of knowledge. His teaching interests include non-Western philosophy broadly, ancient Greek thought, philosophy of religion, and, epistemology. His papers have been published in journals that include Apeiron, Philosophy East and West, Asian Philosophy, and History of Philosophy Quarterly. His books include V膩tsy膩yana鈥檚 Commentary on the Ny膩ya Sutra: A Guide (Oxford University Press, 2023), The Ny膩ya-s奴tra: Selections with Early Commentaries (Hackett, 2017), and God and the World's Arrangement: Readings from Ved膩nta and Ny膩ya Philosophy of Religion (Hackett, 2021). Edited volumes include Free Will, Agency, and Selfhood in Indian Philosophy (Oxford University Press, 2014), and The Vindication of the World: Essays Engaging with Stephen Phillips (Routledge, 2024).
